Today in class we turned in our Book Treasure Hunt worksheet. Then, Mrs. Coats- Haan walked around the class to make sure we ad our textbooks covered. After that, we took our procedures quiz. To figure out who was “full of more hot air” we decided to see who could fill the plastic bag with more air, Stedman or Jacob. We soon found out that with the help of Bernoulli’s principle that both of them are full of hot air. The rest of the class had then received a plastic bag to try blowing air through the bag. After all the bags had been rolled up and placed back into the box, Mrs. Coats- Haan explained how to make our kites, which can also be found on page two of your lab manual. We got to work with the people at our table to use our math skills to solve the lengths and angles of our kite. Most of the groups did not finish today. The homework was page 21 #1-5 and #11-13.
QOD: Give an example of Bernoulli's principle in action.
Example: In a hurricane, windows explode rather than implode. This is because the high air pressure outside is much greater than the air pressure inside, causing it to explode.
